There are movie fans, and then there’s the fan who commissioned Bugatti to make a special-edition Transformers-themed Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse in 2014. This is the same Bugatti model that debuted in the fourth movie in the series, Transformers: Age of Extinction. Commissioned as a tribute, the car is now listed with Sotheby’s with just over 3,000 miles on the clock, having last been serviced by Bugatti in Munich in 2022.
This Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is one of 92 units ever produced, but stands in a league of its own when it comes to the personalization touches bestowed on it. Unlike the Veyron featured in the Transformers 4 movie, this one flips the color scheme to blue-on-black making for a more bold appearance.
That’s before we even get to the Transformers-inspired mosaic paintwork and Autobots logo on the hood. Inside, there’s an Autobots metal plaque between the seats and a few more themed inserts to seal the deal. This particular car once bore the name of its first owner on the seat headrests but has since been retrimmed.
At the time, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse was the fastest open-topped car in the world. The legendary quad-turbo W16 engine with 1,200 horsepower helped put a 254mph top speed record to its name. Fast forward to 2024: can this Transformers-special Veyron break more records when it heads to auction?
