Watch & Act – A brilliant initiative that will auction luxury watches for the Australian bushfires

Many believe the world is ending with this motley of ecological disasters happening perpetually around us. Even so, we can’t give up and stop trying, which is exactly what is happening after the disastrous Australian bushfire crisis; multiple actors within the watch community – watch manufacturers and watch media – have decided to join a cause and to act. This cause is called “Watch & Act!” it is an auction of 16 watches with 100% of proceeds distributed across charities to help fight Australia’s environmental nightmare. “Watch & Act!” is an initiative of Time+Tide Watches, one of Australia’s leading watch magazines. Founder Andrew McCutchen has reached out across the horological world and enlisted many friends and collaborators to help out too. The auction is launched and will run for 10 days until the 30th of January. Of the 16 timepieces that are getting auctioned, three are stunning, unique pieces. The watches that have been generously offered for the auction are great pieces like the personal watch of Adam Clayton, bass player of U2; the Serpenti Tubogas, which is one of Bvlgari’s key pieces, is part of the collection too. Longines fans will hopefully donate more than their attention to get the coolest Longines Heritage Diver 1967 watch. Hublot has enthusiastically donated the Classic Fusion ‘Watch & Act!’ unique timepiece.

Zenith has created a Zenith Pilot Rescue “Australian Rescue Edition” Unique Piece, with a custom case back. Other pieces up for auction are a James Morrison limited edition from Oris, a DOXA SUB 200 130, and a Frederique Constant Manufacture Moonphase.
