Anant Ambani, son of the richest person in Asia, Mukesh Ambani, has been busy preparing for his upcoming wedding with Radhika Merchant, set for July 12. Recently, the Ambani scion was seen hand-delivering wedding invitations to VIPs across Mumbai, India, in a brand new custom Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth $1.5 million. But if you’re impressed by his luxurious new ride, wait till you see the ultra-rare Richard Mille spotted on the 29-year-old’s wrist yesterday. Anant Ambani paid a visit to a temple on the outskirts of Mumbai ahead of his wedding, accompanied by the family’s astrologer. Dressed in traditional Indian attire, the groom-to-be was seen wearing a limited-edition Richard Mille RM 12-01 Tourbillon Carbon and red Quartz TPT, color-matched with his clothes.

The highly-exclusive RM 12-01 Tourbillon was launched by Richard Mille in 2018. Released in a handful of colorways, the timepiece combines the watchmaker’s TPT case construction and an incredible movement based on the one that powered the award-winning RM 012 Tourbillon from 2006. The manually wound movement is said to be inspired by actual bridge architecture and car engines. The four beam-style bridges secure the movement to the case, making it capable of withstanding up to 5,000 G forces. The movement offers only the time with a tourbillon and has a power reserve of 70 hours.

The RM 12-01 Tourbillon is limited to 18 pieces per version.

The Carbon and red Quartz TPT version is arguably the most eye-catching of the four colorways, each limited to just 18 examples. The tonneau-shaped case measures 39.3 mm across, 48 mm lug to lug, and 13.84 mm thick, giving it a chunky appearance. However, the lightweight materials and the proprietary construction technique make the watch easy to wear. The timepiece is fitted with a red-colored sporty rubber strap and a titanium clasp. Thanks to its exclusivity, the red RM 12-01 Tourbillon is currently valued at around $1.2 million. However, it’s very difficult to find one in the pe-owned market.

Over the last few years, Anant Ambani has established his name amongst some of the most notable watch collectors worldwide. While the $9 million Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime Reference 6300G is arguably the most important watch in his collection, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani is a patron of Richard Mille’s rare and exceptional watches.

At the beginning of this year, he was spotted wearing a $6 million Richard Mille 56-01 Tourbillon Green Sapphire. A few months later, Anant was able to wow Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, at his pre-wedding bash with his Richard Mille RM 56-02 Sapphire worth $4.6 million. But the Ambani scion owns several more ultra-exclusive Richard Mille watches, which must make him a very important customer for the Swiss watch brand,
