The Met Gala isn’t just about fashion, it’s a social litmus test. With tickets priced at $75,000 and tables at a staggering $350,000, it’s a declaration that you belong to society’s crème de la crème. In 2024, Lauren Sánchez and her billionaire fiancé Jeff Bezos made their Met Gala debut, but only after a certain fashion queen gave her blessing, according to Daily Mail. Anna Wintour, the formidable editor-in-chief of US Vogue and the Gala’s longtime chair, had already laid the groundwork for Sánchez with a glowing Vogue editorial. But that didn’t mean she was letting fashion faux pas slide.

Wintour, who has helmed Vogue since 1988, reportedly insisted that the soon-to-be Mrs. Bezos could attend the Gala only if she had a say in what Sánchez wore. And clearly, she did. Dressed to perfection in a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown that followed the evening’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” Sánchez wore a sweeping floral skirt with tonal overlapping panels that resembled a mosaic garden, a major style departure and a debut for the books. The Wintour wand rarely errs, and “rarely gets this personally involved,” noted biographer Amy Odell.

Sánchez must have appreciated the 75-year-old fashion icon’s input, as she’s since worn Oscar de la Renta to major events like the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party and has even invited Wintour to her upcoming wedding.

Wintour will attend the Italian wedding with a possible Vogue exclusive as a plus one-

According to OK! Magazine, Anna Wintour received an invite to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s lavish nuptials in Venice. Will Sánchez don another Oscar de la Renta masterpiece with Wintour’s stamp of approval? That remains to be seen. But this time, it’s Wintour who might be seeking the nod, from Sánchez and Bezos. As reported by Page Six, the couple is reportedly in talks to give Vogue the exclusive rights to cover their wedding.
