Drake has once again proven that his sense of luxury knows no bounds, this time by unveiling a fully renovated version of his custom Boeing 767 jet, famously known as Air Drake. The Canadian superstar gave fans a personal tour of the refreshed aircraft on Instagram, offering a rare glimpse into one of the most extravagant private jets in the entertainment world.

Gifted to him in 2019 as part of a marketing partnership with Cargojet, the aircraft has undergone a transformation that blends comfort, indulgence, and unmistakable personality at 30,000 feet. What was once a striking flying machine now feels more like a palatial estate in the sky.

Drake reflected on the moment he first received the plane, describing it as one of the most surreal experiences of his life. “When I first got my plane, I was in this hangar. It’s like probably one of the craziest moments of my life. I actually didn’t believe it until AJ told me, ‘I’m gonna get you the biggest jet in the game out of anybody. It’d be like you and the President, that’s it,’” he said, referencing Ajay Virmani, the CEO of Cargojet, who orchestrated the handover of the jet to the rapper. Since then, Air Drake has become more than just a mode of travel. It is a symbol of status, style, and strategic branding.

The Boeing 767 itself is a wide-body aircraft that was originally designed for commercial use and can seat up to 269 passengers in a typical two-class configuration. It boasts a range of over 6,000 nautical miles, making it more than capable of flying nonstop between continents.

The aircraft was built in 1996 and once flew for Saudi Arabia’s Mid East Jet before Cargojet acquired it. The base value of the aircraft is estimated at $185 million, as reported by Marca. Drake’s recent upgrades reportedly cost between $80 million and $100 million, pushing the total investment to nearly $200 million.

Drake’s net worth is estimated at around $250 million, making the cost of owning and upgrading such a plane significant even for someone of his stature. On top of the renovation, annual operating costs for a Boeing 767 of this kind can range from 10 to 15 million, accounting for crew, maintenance, hangar fees, insurance, and fuel.

For Drake, however, Air Drake is not just an expense; it is an extension of his brand and lifestyle, one that accompanies him on tours, studio sessions, and private getaways around the globe.

A floating penthouse in the sky
Inside the renovated Air Drake, the changes are immediately apparent. The interior now radiates warmth and opulence, a far cry from the earlier version that Drake jokingly referred to as “old and pink.” Rich wood finishes, plush carpeting, and soft ambient lighting define the new aesthetic.

The main lounge features leather recliners, velvet couches, and custom pillows. There is also a full movie screening area with a large screen and surround sound setup, perfect for long-haul flights or relaxed in-air viewing sessions.

One of the more playful additions to the aircraft is a dedicated gambling center called the Stake Lounge, named after the online gambling platform with which Drake has a well-known partnership. A longtime fan of live-streamed betting, Drake now has a space on board to continue the habit in private.

The jet also includes a master bedroom suite with a king-size bed and its own en suite bathroom, giving the performer hotel-level comfort while flying across continents. These upgrades transform the jet from a statement piece into a true home in the clouds.

The jet’s sky-blue exterior, originally customized by the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh, has been left intact. The floating cloud design continues to reflect the identity of Drake’s OVO brand and gives Air Drake a look that is as iconic on the runway as it is in the air. Drake’s vision was never just about travel but about creating an environment that felt deeply personal. With these updates, he has successfully redefined luxury aviation in a way that only a few in the world can understand or afford.

As Drake prepares to embark on his next tour across the UK and Europe, Air Drake will serve not only as his transportation but also as his sanctuary. More than a jet, it is a stage, a studio, a casino, and a mobile estate all in one. In an industry that thrives on image and influence, Air Drake remains an unmatched symbol of how far style, ambition, and partnerships can take you.
