Centibillionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s adventure-filled Italian escapade took a spiritual turn when the power couple was seen in the company of the Pope at the Vatican. This is how the world’s second-richest man, worth $196 billion, and his fiancée made the most of their visit to Rome.
They even indulged in some sweet, touristy moments in front of the iconic Trevi Fountain during a romantic stroll. The Amazon co-founder and his helicopter-pilot ladylove were enjoying their European holiday, walking hand-in-hand through the Italian capital. They also dined at the high-class Pierluigi Restaurant, located in the heart of the Eternal City.
Their Italian holiday aboard the gigantic 416-foot Koru megayacht has been grabbing headlines, partly due to their celebrity friends Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and Vittoria Ferretti, who spent a few days aboard Bezos’s $500 million yacht off the coast of Sardinia. Yet, the world’s largest sailing yacht doesn’t need Hollywood A-listers to command attention; the Oceanco vessel’s imposing grandeur gets it all done in a jiffy.
Of the papal visit, 54-year-old Sanchez posted a message on Instagram that read, “It was an honor for Jeff and me to spend time with the Pope at the Vatican. His wisdom, warmth, and humor touched me deeply. He reminded us not to take life too seriously, a simple but powerful invitation. We discussed climate change, which he is very passionate about. I am so grateful for this beautiful blessing and gentle wisdom that Francis shared with us.”
The 60-year-old business mogul and Lauren Sanchez are both Christian by faith. They have spent most of their summer traveling around Europe aboard Koru, which now seems to have become an annual tradition. They kicked off their overseas adventures in Greece with Kim Kardashian before traveling through the Mediterranean Sea and up to Italy, according to Page Six. According to AIS data, the $500 million sailing yacht Koru and its $75 million shadow vessel are cruising around Sol d’en Serra, Spain, at the time of writing.
