Elettra Lamborghini, a 30-year-old heiress with a middle name inspired by the iconic Miura sports car (a family tradition), is a name that needs no introduction. As the granddaughter of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of the legendary sports car brand, Elettra has carved out her own path beyond her billionaire heritage. She’s a social media sensation with over 7 million Instagram followers, a singing superstar with the hit single “Pen Pen” from her debut album Twerking Queen, and the self-proclaimed ‘wild one’ of the Lamborghini clan.

Elettra is the granddaughter of Ferruccio Lamborghini who founded Automobili Lamborghini

“I know my surname is one of the most important in the world. There are many people with significant surnames, but mine is entirely unique,” Elettra reflects. “Everybody knows the Lamborghini name.” Often dubbed the Italian Paris Hilton, Elettra is married to Dutch DJ Afrojack and enjoys a life filled with luxury, music, and travel. Contrary to popular belief, Elettra’s wealth comes from her success as a TV personality, singer, and fashion icon—not from her family’s former ownership of the Lamborghini car company, which was sold in 1998.

Early Life:

Growing up in Bologna, Elettra, the daughter of Luisa Peterlongo and entrepreneur Tonino Lamborghini, was part of one of Italy’s most famous entrepreneurial families. A true princess of luxury, she was surrounded by opulence. Her childhood was filled with the hustle and bustle of a large family, including three sisters and a brother, Ferruccio Lamborghini, an Italian motorcycle racer.

The family owned lavish properties, including the 15th-century Renaissance manor house at Palazzo del Vignola. Elettra also has a deep fondness for horses, having grown up with a mare named Lolita, who stayed by her side for 16 years. She enjoyed the privilege of choosing her ride from her father’s garage, stocked with classic cars. In an interview with Libero Quotidiano, Elettra admitted to losing count of the number of Lamborghinis she owned.

Career: A star in her own right-

Elettra, who earned a wax statue at Madame Tussauds Amsterdam, built her fortune through entertainment and media ventures. From judging and mentoring on The Voice Italy to releasing hit singles and launching her own clothing and accessory lines, her accomplishments are many. The 30-year-old shuttles between her hometown, Bologna and Miami, where she brings her music to life. “My main focus right now is singing, and the album will be a combination of reggaeton, hip-hop, and trap. I don’t want to do reality TV forever,” she says.

Love, luxuries, and life-

At 26, Elettra married Dutch DJ Afrojack (Nick van de Wall) in a lavish October 2020 ceremony at Villa Balbiano in Lake Como, Italy. The wedding was spectacular, featuring a grand ceremony, a breathtaking fireworks display, and Elettra dazzling in a Galia Lahav couture gown valued between $10,000 and $20,000. Promoting body positivity-

With 42 piercings, 15 floating diamonds, 10 tattoos, and a quirky sock collection, Elettra passionately promotes body positivity. “I think in Italy, I’m the only person who eats everything. Especially in Milan, the capital of fashion, there are a lot of anorexic girls,” she shares. “This is not my type of girl. I always post photos on Instagram of me eating, saying you have to eat.” She adds, “I’m a proud curvy girl, and I want to portray this image. I want people to know that Instagram, with its filters, and all these other platforms are not real. You have to eat, have chocolate, and enjoy life.”

DNA drama-

The Lamborghini name holds immense prestige, even though Ferruccio fully divested from the company in 1974. Some individuals will go to extraordinary lengths to be linked with such a renowned family. Elettra found herself embroiled in a legal battle with a glamorous Italian beautician who claimed to be the secret granddaughter of Lamborghini’s billionaire founder. The 36-year-old Flavia Borzone made dramatic efforts to prove she and Elettra are blood relatives, including hiring a private detective and stealing a discarded straw to obtain a DNA sample. Lamborghini’s lawyers, however, argued that the sample, obtained without consent, was ‘unlawful.’ The case has been adjourned until March next year.

She was sued for using her own family name –

The glamorous songstress found herself at the center of a legal storm in Italy after attempting to trademark her name across various luxury categories. As expected, this move did not sit well with Automobili Lamborghini, which argued that Elettra’s trademark would encroach on their established brand. As per the filing, the Italian Patent and Trademark Office rejected her application, but the tables turned when the authorities ultimately ruled in Elettra’s favor, recognizing her right to leverage her own distinct and independent fame, beyond the shadow of her family’s automotive empire.

She isn’t interested in joining Lamborghini-

Elettra Lamborghini continues to carve out her identity. “I’m not sure I’d ever work in my family’s company. Maybe one day, if I tire of what I’m doing and opt for the easy route, but I doubt it. I don’t like the idea of my family supporting me—I’m financially independent. With a last name like mine, it’s hard to establish something on your own, but I want the world to know me for who I am.” After all, she’s the granddaughter of a man who returned to his farming roots after retirement. From producing his own wines to designing his own golf course while managing multiple businesses, her grandfather was a man of grit. Her father, Tonino Lamborghini, worth $1 billion, founded the Tonino Lamborghini brand in 1981, which focuses on luxury goods like watches, eyewear, perfumes, and other high-end accessories.
