Aren’t you curious about Oprah’s toothpaste flavor or what David Beckham’s wardrobe looks like? Intriguing as it is, such private information is seldom available. It is nearly impossible to know the most personal details of the most famous people. Luckily we have some details on what comforts the wealthiest man in the world. The man is Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and his plush chair provides comfort. While the $204 billion boss figuratively sits on an empire of more than 70 renowned luxury brands that includes Louis Vuitton, Dior, Sephora, Dom Perignon and many more. He literally sits on a chair made in Brianza by the historic company Mascheroni, founded in 1973.
“Arnault is not the only one, but he is the most representative among our customers who are not looking for big brands but want items that others do not know about. And therein lies our difference, that of having found the right balance between notoriety and exclusivity,” explained Silvio Mascheroni, son of the founder, to the local press. The chair that seats the world’s most prosperous chairman is an armchair model called Congress 135. It boasts a solid wood frame with non-deformable padding and leather upholstery. The nearly $5500 chair is made using natural ox leather and marked with a plate engraved with the brand “Mascheroni srl Made in Italy,” which certifies its authenticity.
In nearly five decades of business, why has Mascheroni never invested in advertising? “We have always thought that our products were the best advertising and our customers the best sales department. I believe that behind our good fortune lies the fact that we immediately knew what to do and how to do it,” shared Silvio Mascheroni. The luxury brand is known for top-notch quality and elitist clientele. Their excellence can be credited to the attention to detail paid by Mascheroni. It is one of the few companies directly controlling the entire production cycle, from the choice of raw materials to production and having each product made by a single craftsman.
Influential politicians, head honchos, and uncrowned kings and queens of the world preferred the Mascheroni throne to rule their kingdom effectively. From German politician Ursula Von Der Leyen, iconic Ukrainian politician Volodymyr Zelensky, Qatar’s legislative body Shura Council, and national parliaments scattered across Africa and Asia perch on a Mascheroni.
