New at Lalique: Brand launches limited edition Damien Hirst Butterfly panels alongside their Spring/Summer Tourbillons redux

Whether it’s wine glasses, elaborate faucets or visually stunning pens, the crystal mavens at Lalique always give us something fresh every season. This time we get a double dose of covetable crystal as Lalique has not only released their Spring/Summer homeware collection but also introduced a new limited edition range of multipurpose crystal panels created in collaboration with Damien Hirst. Titled ‘Eternal’ this collaboration celebrates Hirst’s iconic motif the Butterfly in three series ‘Love, Hope and Beauty’ each of which is represented by a differently shaped butterfly.

damien-hirst-lalique-2Hirst believes the butterfly to be a symbol of the beauty and fragility of life, so it is fitting that the panels are limited to just 50 pieces (of each color). Available in 12 colors the panels can be used in a myriad of ways including being mounted on an easel, framed and hung across a wall partition or inserted into a wall. The starting price for these is £12,000 ($18,290) and crystal panel is signed and numbered and comes with a signed edition certificate.

damien-hirst-lalique-4Meanwhile Lalique’s s/s 2015 range consists of a range of vases, bowls and small sculptures in black enamel, blue patina and lavender dichroic crystal. The collection revisits Lalique’s signature Tourbillons vase, recreating the favorite in a limited edition bright blue avatar. We also see a Tourbillions numbered vase and limited edition bowl alongside the dichroic Flora Bella vase and bowl. The Flora Bella vase particularly caught our eye for its lavender color but our must-have pick from this collection is without a doubt the Tourbillons Vase (black and clear numbered edition) which is memorable for both its distinctive shape and its £4,900 ($7,468) price tag!
