Even before the 2024 Paris Olympics commenced, Louis Vuitton had already emerged as a winner. The French luxury house has been in the global spotlight since Day 1, and for good reason. The Maison adds a touch of high fashion to the sporting world with its medal trays and torch trunks for the events. These elegant trays were crafted by artisans at Louis Vuitton’s workshop in the Maine-et-Loire region. The lightweight display trays are sheathed in the company’s signature Damier canvas, a staple of the fashion house since 1888. These trays, designed to hold medals for the winners, were created by luxury jeweler Chaumet (owned by LVMH).
Each tray can hold two to six medals, and the trunks can hold a total of 468 medals for the winners of the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. The trunks epitomize the luxury brand’s slogan, “Victory travels in Louis Vuitton.” A total of four trunks have been fabricated with brass protective corners and closures for the medals and torches. The incredible torch trunk bears a strong resemblance to the medal display.
The torch journeyed from Olympia and Athens to France, making its way to the City of Light for the opening ceremony on July 26. It also visited the museum and cultural center, Fondation Louis Vuitton. The Paralympics Torch will be showcased in 50 cities throughout France from Aug. 25 to Aug. 28.
