A tribute in plastic, it’s fantastic! Mattel released a beautiful Claudia Schiffer Barbie, sporting the iconic 1994 Versace gown. As expected, this striking doll is sold out everywhere.

Creating a Claudia Schiffer Barbie was a natural step for Mattel, as she closely resembles their iconic doll in real life. Mattel’s collection would be incomplete without paying homage to the beautiful supermodel who dominated the runway and captured hearts in the 1990s. The most fashionable doll of all time now dons the cerulean Versace gown Ms. Schiffer, 53, wore on the catwalk during the 1994 Fall/Winter Atelier Versace show.

‘Wearing that gown for the first time was a moment I will never forget,’ Schiffer told WWD. ‘Versace, at the time, was really pioneering a new form of fashion presentation. I remember walking down the runway to a Prince track, with Prince sitting front row; it was electric.’ The model featured on Vogie covers over 16 times manifested this early on in life. ‘My earliest memories are playing with Barbie and wishing I could be just like her,’ she said.

She added, ‘Half a century later, Mattel has made my wish come true by designing a doll in my likeness. I hope my doll can inspire all fans to dream big and follow their passions.’ “When Claudia first stepped into the runaway, with her blonde, long hair and the angelic face, the whole world immediately saw her as the personification of Barbie,” Donatella Versace said in a 2020 press release.

The Barbie Supermodel Claudia Schiffer Doll in Versace Gown retails for $85 and is sold out on most platforms.
