Synonymous with the highest quality of luxury automobiles, Bentley has long since been one of the most respected names in the automobile industry. They have now taken the next step in the lifestyle segment by releasing a collector’s edition of their fragrance created in collaboration with the French luxury brand Lalique. The result is ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition,’ which makes a stunning visual impact with its matte square flacon topped with Bentley’s ‘Flying B’ crafted from crystal, its wings representing timeless beauty. The minimal design and sparse lines of this flacon give it the modern elegance associated with Bentley and Lalique. The stark contrast between the matte and polished crystal is a signature Lalique design element, and it adds a unique element to the bottle.
With each 40 ml bottle priced at approximately $4,800 (€3,500), this collector’s edition bottle is the very epitome of luxe minimalist style. Designers from both companies have closely collaborated on this project. Each flacon is said to be the result of many weeks’ worth of work, and about 45% of finished pieces are destroyed as they do not meet the high-quality standards set by Lalique. The perfume itself is a heady elixir of wood, spice, and leather aromas created by Mylène Alran from the French perfume house Robertet. With top notes that include Orris Butter- known to be one of the most expensive scents in the world- and white Cedarwood, heart notes of papyrus and patchouli, and base notes of musk and dry amber, the fragrance promises to be every bit as charismatic and enticing as its wearer.
Only 999 of these artistic flacons will be made, and each is presented in an elegant walnut-colored box with a leather interior and an additional case for the fine Eau de parfum.
