There’s something magical about Lamborghini’s V12 engines that have powered some of the most iconic vehicles throughout the Italian marque’s storied history spanning over six decades. The legendary 12-cylinder engine is so intricately linked to the Lamborghini’s identity that its newest flagship supercar, plug-in-hybrid Revuelto, has retained the mighty V12 in the era of downsizing. As a result, Lamborghini fans have been assured that the roar of the V12 isn’t going away anytime soon. However, the Italian automaker has partnered with Technics to release a vinyl record with the V12 engine sounds from six celebrated Lamborghini models, giving its fans the opportunity to treat themselves with the goosebumps-inducing mechanical symphony of different Lambo V12s whenever they want. But, there’s a small little catch.
To get yourself the vinyl with the Lambo engine sounds, you’ll have to purchase a special-edition turntable created in collaboration with Technics. The SL-1200M7B is decked out in Lamborghini’s Y-shaped motif, which can be found across Lamborghini road cars released over the past decade. The repeated Y-themed pattern comes in orange, green, or yellow as a tribute to the most common Lamborghini colors. In addition to that, a large Lamborghini logo can be found emblazoned on the slipmat. Furthermore, the Lamborghini branding is also present beneath the controls on the right, next to the standard Technics logo.
Coming back to the record, it includes the V12 sound from the 400GT 2+2, Miura SV, 25th Anniversary Countach, Diablo 6.0 SE, Murciélago LP 640, and the latest Revuelto. The record is printed with a stylized version of a Revuelto wheel, while its jacket features more Technics and Lamborghini branding. The pricing of the special edition SL-1200M7B has not been revealed as of yet. However, it is based on the Technics SL-1200MK7, which is priced at approximately $1,100. The company has already started accepting pre-orders, with limited availability through the end of June.
