As part of its 60th-anniversary celebrations, Automobili Lamborghini has collaborated with Montegrappa, Italy’s leading luxury pen manufacturer, to introduce a limited-edition collection of fountain pens and rollerball pens. Called the Automobili Lamborghini 60°, the collection of beautifully crafted writing instruments is said to be inspired by the design of Lamborghini super sports cars from the 1960s. The limited edition pens are handcrafted in Italy and offer a stunning combination of cutting-edge materials, craftsmanship, and futuristic design to celebrate the brand’s rich history. The collection comprises sixty fountain pens and sixty rollerballs in six distinctive Lamborghini colors: Arancio Apodis, Bianco Siderale, Verde Viper, Blu Aegeus, Grigio Titans, and Nero Noctis.
As far as the design is concerned, there are plenty of Lamborghini-inspired styling elements that can be seen in the ultralight hexagonal profile of the pens, which are made of aerospace-grade aluminum and coated in forged carbon fiber. There’s a unique opening mechanism for quick access to the ink chamber which is designed to look like Lamborghini’s signature red toggle start button. The red alloy snap switch at the base of the pen activates the mechanism incorporated into the writing instrument.
Other interesting design features include a threadless safety-locking cap, a stamped black alloy Y-clip, and a hexagonal plate adorned with the 60th-anniversary emblem. The fountain pen’s ruthenium-plated 18K gold nib gets Automobili Lamborghini’s famous shield engraved onto it. furthermore, all the models come housed in an elegant black 60th-anniversary case. The Automobili Lamborghini 60° collection will be available for purchase at select retailers, boutiques, and the official online store starting in September.
