When you think of Samsung, fashion is most definitely not what first springs to mind; however, partnering with Alexander Wang changes all of that. Since launching his first line in 2007, Alexander Wang has grown from strength to strength and has become a favorite designer for many celebrities. Samsung and Wang have partnered to create the Industry’s first print inspired by crowd-sourced sketches and images. To do this, Wang will engage a group of friends, stylists, and photographers who will use the Galaxy Note II’s inherent creativity and share technology to share images and ideas that inspire them. The ‘doodles’ will then be compiled and curated by Wang into one collectively inspired print. The print will appear on a limited edition bag, with the proceeds for the bag going towards the Charity Art Start. Art Start is an NYC-based non-profit organization that uses the arts to save lives and transform communities, focusing on youth between the ages of 5 and 21.
In addition to partnering with Wang, Samsung is also one of the official sponsors of the famous New York fashion week. Talking about the collaboration, Wang said, “This collaboration represents a new way that technology and style can come together. And, through a concerted effort, I am happy to be a part of supporting such a great charity as Art Start that embraces creativity and art in a way that can change lives.”
