Of late, one says the words Aman Hotel and the mind instantly takes you to Venice, owing to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ much-publicized nuptials. However, it is time to shift focus to the latest offering from the ultra-luxury Aman Group. In a first-of-its-kind move, Aman has announced its first branded residences in Saudi Arabia. Called Amansamar, each serene abode will contain five to six bedrooms and sit on plots starting from 9,000 square meters. A personal sanctuary of solace for the lucky few, it will be located near Diriyah’s UNESCO World Heritage Site in Riyadh.
For Aman, location is paramount, and this beautiful region of Saudi Arabia is iconic for its rich history combined with striking natural beauty. The name Amansamar combines Aman, the Sanskrit word for peace, and “Samar,” an Arabic term describing the peaceful acacia tree, symbolizing resilience and serenity. To pay homage to this idea, acacia trees will fill every nook and corner, turning the development into a tranquil oasis of opulence while keeping Wadi Safar’s design language at the forefront.
In addition to the residences, the development will feature an 80-key Aman hotel designed by Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects. The villas, as mentioned above, will have up to six rooms, offering stunning cliff views and uninterrupted vistas of the desert terrain. Living in the lap of luxury also means spending each day surrounded by fabulous amenities. Residents will enjoy access to Wadi Safar’s Royal Signature Golf Course, designed by Greg Norman, as well as polo and equestrian facilities that blend seamlessly into the desert environment.
There are several dining venues, a Racquet Club, multiple pools, and a Kids’ Club. The icing on the cake is the Aman Spa, complete with hammam and banya houses and comprehensive hydrotherapy facilities. For residents only, a dedicated Residence Club offers wellness and luxury living spaces where one can truly savor the good life.
