Dine with the fish at this stunning underwater restaurant in Maldives

If Little Mermaid took you for dinner, the place would like something like this jazzy new underwater restaurant in the Maldives. It is called Subsix and located in the Per Aquum Niyama Resort in the honeymooner’s paradise. The name honours its descend of six metres below the waterline. Once inside the restaurant you will feel all blue but that isn’t a bad thing. The aura and atmosphere is sure to make you feel like you are an aquatic being yourself, with more solid limbs. The design is far-fetched to the point that seats look like they have planktons stuck on it – which is just leather shredded to add some essence of aqua vegetation. The restaurant used to be a nightclub, the first one in the world, before it was transformed to being a restaurant by Poole Associates.

The ceiling will make you gape (must watch step) because it looks like the shore vomited a truck of seashells on it. At the centre there is a clam-like bar with a fiberglass shell. The lighting in the restaurant keeps changing day, noon and night – pure white, lavender and blue respectively to give an essence of what fish sea.

The best part of the restaurant is the view. It offers amazing views of 90 coral reef species while you enjoy with a wine and some tofu. Well, if you are able to brave it, then you could probably devour some grilled fish while seeing a school of fish swim by. Meat is another option of course. While in the magical Maldives, you should also try the underwater suites and the underwater spa. All fun.
