Spread across 16,000 sq.ft and two storeys, Soneva Jani has opened the largest kids area in the whole of Maldives.

Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons. Lucky for us, this season is permanently established at Maldivian marvel Soneva Jani’s latest offering, The Den, in the Noonu Atoll. Giving the children of the modern, technology-driven world a real chance to be carefree kids is this 1,500 sq.m, two-story structure. The remarkable playground is an inimitable oasis of imagination, replete with interactive experiences designed to delight and entertain your tiny tots. Kids these days don’t comprehend the concept of Slow Life nor the ‘No News, No Shoes’ ethos. At Soneva Jani, young Sonevians realize that existing without phones and tablets is not only possible but also enjoyable.

The Den’s charm begins with two majestic waterfalls cascading into a 155 sq.m swimming pool. Add to this extra dozes of fun with waterslides, catamaran nets, and shallow areas for younger guests. There is something for kids of every age; the waterfall leads into a cavern that transforms into the Cave Bar for teens to gather and socialize. Cave Bar includes a DJ booth, dance floor, and pool bar serving mocktails to cater to their likes. The adventure-seekers can hit the refreshing blue waters via a 32-meter zip line or go bananas on a pirate ship and skateboard ramp.

Parents fretting over entertaining their kids on a secluded island destination, look no further as Soneva Jani has an assortment of activities to keep even the most active of little explorers engaged and entertained for hours on end. The space is designed keeping the affections of little humans in mind. What child wouldn’t chuckle walking over piano-inspired keys embedded in the wooden floors or prancing over the bioluminescent flooring? Indoor areas include an exciting bowling alley, Lego and craft area, a dressing-up room, a library, and a cinema. Toddlers need not be held back as the dedicated sensory play area allows them to unleash their energies and make the most of their time in the Maldives.

Regulars will know already that the kitchen area hosts cooking lessons and Soneva’s regular Junior MasterChef competition. Teenagers also have a space exclusively on the upper level of The Den, dubbed the Hangout. Its roof deck features an array of attention-grabbing activities, including a music room, telescope deck, pool and foosball tables, and a dry slide for quick-outs.

The Soneva Academy ignites the minds of young learners with immersive modular courses. They cover a variety of fascinating topics, including the Night Sky in the Maldives, Become a Birdwatcher, Zero Waste and Plastic Pollution in the Maldives, Mosquitoes, and Mosquito-borne Diseases, Marine Life of the Maldives, and more. The Den will be open daily from 09:30 to 17:00 and run by Soneva Jani’s experienced child-minders to watch over their precious young guests.
