What’s the good thing about being a superhero? Superpowers! You dont have to move mountains or metamorph into another being, you simply got to shell out $25 million (moving mountains may sound easier to a few of us). Marvel’s Infinity Gems, aka Soul Gems, are elements that allow fans to get their hands on the power of time, space, reality, mind, power, and soul. Unveiled at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the Infinity Collection of Gemstones includes six stones totaling 150 carats. They come displayed in a custom Infinity Gauntlet (like the one Thanos wears in the movies) made by Gentle Giant Ltd.
“Fans and collectors are a very important consumer for Marvel since they truly live the Marvel lifestyle every day and are always seeking to connect with the brand in new and unique ways. We feel this authentic gemstone collection is cool and unexpected and extends the reach of the Marvel brand,” said Paul Gitter, of Marvel Consumer Products, shared the New York Post. Fans really won’t have a better shot at bringing home some power.
The Time Stone is a Colombian emerald approaching 23 carats. Slightly larger is the sapphire from Madagascar, nearing 30 carats, dubbed the Space Stone. The Power Stone, known to allow its users to access and manipulate all forms of energy, is represented by a 35-carat oval-shaped, natural amethyst. The Soul Stone is a cushion-shaped Spessartite exceeding 35 carats, a powerful weapon capable of manipulating the soul and controlling life and death.
A brilliant-cut yellow diamond totaling 35 carats constitutes the Mind Stone. When wielded together, these stones make their bearer the ultimate power on the planet. Marvel took to Twitter to share the news with fans, ‘One of the rarest collectibles debuted earlier today at #MarvelSDCC: The Infinity Collection of Gemstones by @ECGEMSOFFICIAL. The collection consists of the Six Infinity Stones from the Marvel Universe and totals over 150 carats!’
