British luxury carmaker Bentley has released a series of limited edition cabin cushions to celebrate the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla which is scheduled to take place tomorrow. A team of Bentley’s craftspeople based at its Dream Factory in Crewe collaborated to come up with the ultra-luxe cushions that have been made for a fleet of special Bentley models. They are inspired by the cushions in the 1958 S1 Continental Flying Spur currently found in its Heritage Collection. According to the marque, the team used a combination of fine craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology to create the special Coronation Emblem before creating each bespoke cushion by hand. It took them three full days and four different iterations of embroidery processing to bring the design to perfection.
The emblem is made up of nearly 30,000 stitches and consists of two different thread colors. Furthermore, three different colorways were chosen to contrast the carefully selected hides that give the cushions their colors. All of the cushions are made using hides sourced from Northern Europe that are inspected before being cut, stitched, shaped, and finished entirely by hand.
The cushions were made in 4 colors that include Cricketball, Cumbrian Green, Imperial Blue, and Saddle, and feature Beluga, Porpoise, Newmarket Tan, and Imperial Blue accent piping. Contrasting the leather, the emblems have been sewn in Black, White, Red, and Blue thread.
Interestingly, these special edition cushions are not for sale. Instead, they have been created for five of Bentley’s press, which include two Bentayga EWB models, two Bentayga Hybrids, and another special Bentley described as a “highly bespoke” model by the carmaker.
