Commissioned for a mystery buyer – This 252-foot superyacht comes with not one but two helicopters

The Dutch ship building company Damen chose the Palm Beach International Boat Show to reveal that they had begun construction of their SeaXplorer77 vessel. This yacht looks gorgeous in renderings and is taking shape at a Damen facility called Vlissingen East.

The yacht has been commissioned by a client who wanted a surfing, diving and heliskiing platform, especially for use in remote areas.

So how exactly does this anonymous buyer plan to access these remote areas? By helicopter of course! This yacht is equipped with two helicopters, two helidecks and two hangars!

“It not only has a fully certified helideck for safe landings, it also has a standby surface for a backup helicopter,” said Rose Damen, commercial director of yachting at Damen and Amels, “Both helicopters can fit in the below deck hangar, so they’re protected from the elements.” The two helicopters on board will be customized Airbus ACH125s.

Other features on the yacht will include a dive and submersible centre, a separate ski room with its own avalanche safety equipment, Jet Skis and snowmobiles.

The SeaXplorer 77’s reinforced ice classed hull enables the boat to operate in freezing high latitude areas too. The owner, who clearly has a love for sports and the great outdoors, chose to be hands-on in the design process, saying, “Some people think that fans of outdoor activities should stay in fleabag motels and dry their wet socks on radiators. I believe that you can combine the most active outdoor adventures and sports with ultimate comfort.”
