Instead, they are special edition models created by Honda to celebrate its 50th anniversary in Australia. The Japanese brand wrapped some of its most iconic products in striking gold vinyl to mark its Golden Jubilee in Australia. The Honda items that got the gold treatment include a Civic Type R hot hatchback, the Acura NSX hybrid supercar, an HRU19 Buffalo lawn mower, EU22i generator, CBR1000RR Fireblade motorcycle, CRF450L dual-sport dirt bike, and a CRF50F motorbike for kids. “We thought about how we could celebrate our birthday and our unique diversity in a bold and fun way,” Honda Australia CEO Hiroyuki Shimizu said. “I mean, who has ever seen a golden mower or generator before?
The entire range of gilded Honda products was photographed with the Australian Outback as the backdrop for the Golden Era of Performance 50th anniversary photo-shoot to highlights the legacy products from Honda.
