Modern supercars and hypercars are a lot more reliable than the high-performance automobiles from the 1990s or before, and the Bugatti Chiron is no exception. Despite its massive 8.0-liter W16 engine and all the ultra-complex components that help it deliver unrivaled performance without skimping on luxury, the Chiron is mechanically almost bulletproof. We have come across multiple crash videos involving the French hypercar but have never heard of a Chiron facing a dramatic mechanical failure. However, that has finally changed. Monaco-based automobile influencer Georges Maroun Kikano, aka GMK, recently posted a video on his Instagram handle in which he talks about how his $3 million Bugatti Chiron died on him and wouldn’t start.

Stranded right in the middle of a road in Monaco, GMK can be seen pushing and pulling the hypercar to get it on the side of the road while his friend shoots the video. Thanks to his massive stature and muscular build, the Monegasque resident finds it quite easy to muscle the car off the road. However, he shoves and pulls the Chiron using its rear wing, which might be a disturbing visual for most automotive enthusiasts. One of the comments on the video reads “Is he retarded,” while another user quips “The Chiron went from 1500 horsepower to 1 GMK.” The active spoiler sits flush with the bodywork and pops out when the hypercar needs downforce. It’s hard to say if the pulling and pushing done by GMK could have adversely affected the mechanism controlling the wing, but it’s highly unlikely as the spoiler has to endure incredible forces at high speeds.

GMK’s Bugatti Chiron has a beautiful matte black paint on the outside along with matching wheels featuring a glossy finish. Interestingly, the hypercar has a German license plate. It should be noted that the incident took place in Monaco where Bugatti Chirons are quite common; maybe, that’s why the broken-down hypercar didn’t attract much attention. However, the video seems to have been shot late at night with very few people around. Even a police vehicle can be seen arriving at the scene and ultimately helping GMK park the car on the shoulder. The influencer didn’t reveal the issue that made the $3 million hypercar break down in the middle of the road. However, it could just be a stunt to get some more views and followers. Haven’t we seen that before?
