Mesmerizing Mykonos in Greece is attracting the mega-rich, and how. After tech tycoon Mark Zuckerberg, his family, and top Facebook executives were spotted on the pristine island, it is now the turn of another legendary superyacht to make waves in the Mediterranean, literally, i’m talking about the talk of the town, the $300 million superyacht Kaos, owned by Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie.
It’s not uncommon for Kaos to make headlines, often due to the chaos unleashed on the 361-foot vessel by climate activists, not once, but twice. In recent years, activists from the Futuro Vegetal group used biodegradable paint to vandalize Kaos and send a message to the ultra-rich who cruise the high seas in multimillion-dollar mega-yachts.
This time, however, the Oceanco mammoth, boasting a volume of 4,523 GT, attracted onlookers for all the right reasons as the pleasure craft dropped anchor in Ornos Bay in Mykonos. It’s truly been an incredible month for yacht enthusiasts in Greece, with two mega-yachts, Launchpad and the slightly smaller Kaos, cruising through Mykonos. While Launchpad was originally commissioned by a Russian oligarch, Kaos is a floating palace that was originally commissioned in 2008 by Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, the then-Emir of Qatar. It remains regal in every sense under the ownership of a billionaire heiress who enjoys luxury at its finest.
From a touch-and-go helipad, a swimming pool with an integrated aquarium wall, and a beach club with a fold-down transom to a hammam, gym, and spa pool, Kaos offers everything a high-net-worth individual needs to relax. The tender garage is packed with an arsenal of toys and vessels. Speaking of tenders, an image shared by Zappit shows a matching tender next to the mothership, which the 74-year-old billionaire, worth $15 billion, perhaps used to explore the stunning island.
