The first Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101 has entered its outfitting phase at The Italian Sea Group’s Marina di Carrara facility, marking the moment when the new flagship of the Lamborghini yacht family begins to take visible shape. Commissioned by a mystery American billionaire, the 101-foot (30.8-meter) model represents the most ambitious project yet in the collaboration between Tecnomar and Automobili Lamborghini. Hull and superstructure work are complete, and the yacht has now moved indoors for the complex sequence of engineering, joinery, and finishing that defines the final year of construction. According to BOATPro, Tecnomar currently has three new builds underway.
Outfitting begins once the bare structure is secure and watertight. The work starts with the heavy engineering that sits at the heart of a yacht designed to reach 45 knots. The main engines and gearboxes are mounted and aligned if they are not already in place. Generators, fuel tanks, exhaust runs, and the hydraulic network are installed throughout the technical spaces.
Surface drive hardware, stabilizer,s and steering systems are connected so the yacht’s mechanical spine is fully integrated before any interior panels go in. In parallel, the electrical infrastructure is pulled through the decks. Switchboards, cabling, batteries, and UPS units are routed into the hull, while the plumbing network for freshwater, waste, fuel transfer, and fire systems is fitted. HVAC ducting and chiller plants are installed as well, crucial on a tightly packed high-speed hull where heat management matters as much as aesthetics.
Once the technical foundation is in place, the interior begins to grow. Lightweight bulkheads, partitions, and ceilings are built according to the designer’s 3D layout. Pre-fabricated modules such as beds, wardrobes, bathroom blocks, and galley units arrive from specialist joinery shops and are secured in position.
Veneers, stone surfaces, lacquered panels, and carbon trims follow, each fitted within strict weight targets to keep performance on track. At the same time, the exterior moves toward its final form. Fairing and painting are completed, including the Lamborghini yellow that links the yacht to the Fenomeno hypercar. Teak decks are laid, stainless steel rails are mounted, and exterior loungers and sunpads are installed. The distinctive glazing that defines the 101’s aggressive profile is fixed in place.
Electronics and control systems arrive next. Radar arrays, antennas, and navigation domes are mounted, and the Lamborghini-inspired lighting clusters are wired and tested. Monitoring systems are calibrated so that engines, tanks, stabilizer,s and climate control can be managed cleanly from the helm and crew spaces.
Only after the heavy work is complete do the soft goods come on board. Upholstery, mattresses, loose furniture, and decorative elements are installed, along with the Lamborghini-branded details that are saved for the very end to ensure they remain pristine.
Before sea trials, dock testing begins. Engines are run, cooling and electrical loads are verified, safety systems are checked, and air conditioning is balanced. The yacht will then head to sea to confirm speed, noise levels, and handling. For a first hull in a new series, this entire outfitting journey can take a year or longer, but it is the phase in which the 101 becomes the supercar of the sea that its designers intended.
