When you’re one of the richest people on this planet, you can practically have your hands on any car you dream of, even if it does not exist. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg took to Instagram to introduce a stretched Porsche Cayenne SUV, which he claims to have designed himself. Apparently, Zuckerberg’s wife, Pricilla Chan, wanted a minivan as her next car. Since Porsche doesn’t make minivans, Zuckerberg decided to take matters into his own hands and have one built. The billionaire partnered with West Coast Customs and Porsche to modify a Cayenne Turbo GT SUV into a stretched minivan.

The Porsche minivan looks very similar to the standard Cayenne SUV, except for the stretched chassis. It features electrically sliding doors, making it easy to get in and out. The custom minivan isn’t the only Porsche Zuckerberg added to his collection.

He also commissioned West Coast Customs to build him a custom 911 GT3 Touring with a manual gearbox color-matched to the Porsche minivan. Both vehicles are finished in a beautiful slate gray shade, making it the perfect his and hers Porsche duo. Interestingly, this comes only a few days after the billionaire revealed that he mainly drives a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing these days while replying to a comment from Brian Scotto. After picking up an interest in collecting rare and highly collectible watches, it seems Zuckerberg has also transformed into a car guy.

A minivan sounds like a prudent choice for Zuckerberg and his wife, thanks to their growing family. The Meta CEO is a father of three daughters: Maxima (Max), born in 2015; August, born in 2017; and a third daughter, Aurelia, born in 2023. He often shares moments from his family life on social media, showing a caring and engaged side as a dad. The couple often prioritize spending quality time with their children. Zuckerberg has also publicly spoken about the importance of family and work-life balance.

While Zuckerberg might be the first person in the world to own a Porsche minivan, the German automaker has experimented with the idea in the past. Back in 2020, Porsche revealed the Vision “Renndienst” concept as part of their “Unseen” series, showcasing futuristic visions of the brand’s vehicle lineup. Conceived in 2018, the electric van concept featured a streamlined, futuristic appearance. It was named after the historic “Renndienst” service vans used by Porsche to support its racing teams in the 1960s and 1970s.

Is Zuckerberg’s Porsche minivan bulletproof?

Mark Zuckerberg’s focus on security is well-known, driven mainly by his high-profile status as the CEO of Meta. As one of the world’s richest and most influential tech leaders, Zuckerberg faces significant security risks, prompting extensive and expensive security measures. According to Fortune, in 2023, Meta spent $23.4 million for the personal security of Mark Zuckerberg and his family. This made us wonder if the Porsche minivan features bulletproof protection, especially considering it is for his wife and kids. Although no information confirms it, the Instagram pictures suggest the customized Porsche Cayenne might feature some ballistic protection.
