Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo, a virtual concept hyper-racer designed and engineered by Bugatti exclusively for Gran Turismo 6 on the PlayStation. The in-game prototype is a direct hint at the brand’s “future design language” along with the kind of real world performance it is aiming with its upcoming hypercar named ‘Chiron‘. We had already seen the sketches of it but the supercar-maker has actually built a real version of the Vision GT, which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Built using lots of carbon fiber and other exotic materials, the physical example of the car looks absolutely stunning.
Bugatti says the Vision GT was inspired by the Type 57 Bugatti that took Le Mans victories in 1937 and 1939 – hence the blue paintjob. Bugatti engineers took six months to fine tune the driving dynamics and aerodynamics, to make sure the Vision GT could work as a proper track-oriented racer. There is no mention of horsepower but Bugatti has fitted its W16 engine in the middle of the GT hinting a HP figure mirroring the Veyron’s output. The company also claims that the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo can drive at over 400 kmph (250 mph) on four sections of the virtual Le Mans track.
