Adding superyacht charm to the picturesque Tremiti Islands, a tiny Italian archipelago in the Adriatic Sea, is one of the most incredible luxury vessels afloat, Kaos. The $300 million megayacht of Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie is sailing through some of the Adriatic’s most remarkable regions, where a cliffside monastery once described by medieval writers as “Montecassino in the middle of the sea” provides unforgettable views.

After two controversial stays in Barcelona and Ibiza, Kaos now seems to be favoring quieter waters in Italy. The noise of Spain, along with pressure from eco activists, has been replaced by the serenity of nature. The Tremiti Islands, a protected marine reserve since 1989 within Gargano National Park, offer crystal-clear waters brimming with marine life, perfectly suited for a billionaire’s escape.

For ordinary travelers, reaching these islands requires ferries from Termoli, Vieste, or Rodi Garganico. For Walton, however, arrival is a grand affair aboard the 360-foot Oceanco masterpiece. With its cascading blue decks designed to mimic the look of islands, Kaos ranks among the largest superyachts ever to visit the Tremiti Islands, according to Termoli Online.

Originally commissioned by the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Kaos is nothing short of a floating palace, a yacht that turns heads, drops jaws, and widens eyes wherever she goes.

Primonumero reports that Laurie herself is currently aboard, with plans to dock in front of San Domino. The 4,523 GT yacht is lavishly outfitted with stone and marble throughout, lending it regal grandeur. It’s an immense vessel with accommodations for 31 guests in 16 cabins. Those lucky enough to be invited on board are met with some of the finest décor in yachting, Crystal Caviar insets, silk carpets, Iranian white onyx, and Golden Spider stone.

Designed on the outside by Igor Lobanov and on the inside by Sam Sorgiovanni, Kaos also boasts a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck and a spectacular swimming pool aft, complete with an integrated aquarium. Adding to its distinctive character, it retains a traditional majlis area, an Arabic “place of sitting”, paying homage to its original Middle Eastern owner, as noted by SuperYacht Times.

Though the Tremiti Islands span just 3.1 km², Kaos, powered by MTU engines and offering an impressive range of 5,300 nautical miles, could trace the shoreline more than a thousand times on a single journey
