Boats are all about the sun and the sea, but Royal Huisman is about to make it all about the sky. Meet ‘Sky’, the 265-foot vessel featuring naval architecture and exterior styling by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design (MMYD). This masterpiece is further refined by the interior expertise of Winch Design. The sailing yacht, equipped with a carbon rig by Rondal, will have an air draft of a staggering 305 feet, matching the height of the Statue of Liberty from ground to torch.

For perspective, Jeff Bezos’s 417-foot Koru, a maritime marvel worth $500 million commands the seas with three majestic masts, each rising roughly 230 feet high. Yet, Sky’s single towering rig surpasses them all to claim the record for the world’s tallest mast.

Beyond the mast, what stands out are her long waterline, lifting keel, and full-aluminum construction. Despite being an XXL superyacht, Sky flaunts the agility, integrated sailing systems, and maneuverability of a yacht under 164 feet. Even more impressive, she won’t come with the typical six-year wait associated with custom sailing yachts. With most of the engineering already completed, Sky is ready to build and could set sail with an adventurous owner as soon as spring 2030.

On Sky, the best part of enjoying the sun and sea is the flybridge. Its layout and cozy seating make it perfect for spending entire days outdoors. The aft beach deck is another highlight, complete with an extendable swim platform, an inviting space for sunbathing or launching into the ocean. Imagine mornings beginning with coffee on the flybridge as the sails catch the sunrise, and evenings spent under a glowing sky while the yacht glides silently on battery-assisted power.

Sky is designed for hybrid propulsion with silent, emission-minimizing cruising, proof that sustainability and style can share the same deck. At 81 meters long with a beam of around 12 meters and close to 1,000 GT of volume, Sky ranks among the largest sailing yachts ever conceived.
What lies inside Sky
Inside, Sky boasts several impressive zones, including a wellness area and a watersports center where adrenaline meets aromatherapy to end the day on a tranquil note. Accommodations include a full-beam owner’s suite with direct access to the beach deck, an element often seen on motor superyachts but still a rarity among sailing vessels of this scale.
The interiors follow a neutral yet sophisticated palette, elevated with strategic lighting, rich textures, and premium materials.

The yacht offers generous storage and can house a 12-meter tender, a crew tender, two water scooters, and additional gear such as Seabobs, bikes, SUP boards, kayaks, and an extensive scuba setup. A full-beam mid-lazarette with folding platforms on either side and a cockpit with folding bulwarks further enhance her versatility.

For a yacht that touches the sky while skimming the sea, Royal Huisman’s latest concept captures the essence of modern grand sailing, bold, beautiful, and built for those who dream above the horizon.
