Saudi Arabia is building the world’s first gaming and esports district. Bigger than the Vatican City, it will boast the world’s largest esports stadium, the world’s largest indoor LED screen, game-themed luxury hotels, entertainment, and shopping.


Qiddiya is poised to become the epicenter of the booming gaming and esports industry. Envision futuristic, over-the-top-themed hotels, real estate, and awe-inspiring retail spaces spread across a 500,000 sq m district, creating a haven for gamers worldwide. Aiming to attract 10 million visitors annually, the gaming and esports district will feature four distinct sections. The main stadium will have a capacity for 73,000 spectators and boast the world’s largest indoor LED screen among esports arenas.


Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, stated: ‘The gaming and esports sector is undergoing rapid growth, and we are witnessing ambitious plans for its advancement. Our role is to host major events and tournaments, enhancing the infrastructure to enable Qiddiya City to welcome the world to live, learn, and compete in gaming and esports.

The gaming and esports district in Qiddiya City will cater not only to esports professionals but also to gaming enthusiasts of all levels and ages. This district will transform the gaming world into a tangible reality, serving as a welcoming space for the gaming community.’


This exciting development will offer gamers a vibrant place to live, work, and play among peers. The element of fun is intertwined with luxury, as seen in the gaming-themed apartments and hotels. A key attraction is that Qiddiya will host 25 esports clubs from around the world and provide regional headquarters for over 30 leading video game development companies, according to Gulf News. The gaming district is aligned with the National Strategy for Gaming and Esports, aiming to position the Kingdom as a global hub by 2030.
