Of panthers and crocodiles, Cartier’s new animal jewellery watches celebrate the wild and free, stripes and spots, with the most dazzling diamonds and gems

Its animals, its art, its Cartier. For Watches & Wonders Geneva 2024, the Maison is bringing out a high-jeweled, high-art series that pays homage to the kings of the animal kingdom – the panther, crocodile, and zebra. Stunning stripes, glittering eyes, and daring design bring out the wild side of wristwatches like never before. It took a Cartier-level imagination and craftsmanship to deliver an enigmatic assemblage of animal Jewelry Watches, with three-dimensional sculptured designs painstakingly set with diamonds and gemstones.

A Cartier Animal jewelry watch with a tiger motif.

There are three main themes, one that features the heads of the aforementioned animals biting onto the dial that disappears into a heavily set, sinuous bracelet. Next enters a stunning quartet of watches, three with slender leather bands and one iced-out version with a diamond-studded bracelet. The dials of these timepieces highlight the sculptural animals, the crocodiles, and a panther who take center stage to form the outer case of a traditional round watch. The version in white gold with Panther startles onlookers with a gemstone-clad dial completely packed in a kaleidoscope of rhodolite garnets, spessartite garnets, onyx, yellow and white brilliant-cut diamonds, and an enamel motif.

The crocodile watch with the diamond bracelet and diamond-dial, the gem-set crocodile boasts a green, emerald eye. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the croc is indeed stealing the show from the pet Panther in the Watches & Wonders Geneva 2024 Cartier collection. The last trio of the collection celebrates the coat of the animals that translates into beautiful watches evidently depicting the beauty of nature and its fiercest members. A round case sports a marquis-shaped dial surrounded by stripes. These stun in rose gold with rubies, white gold with tsavorite garnets, and yellow gold with black spinels, with a creative touch of black lacquer.
