Rolex introduces new Sky-Dweller on the sporty Oysteflex bracelet

Rolex has revealed all its new models for 2020 and the highlight of the announcement was the launch of the new Submariner models. However, it wasn’t just the iconic diver’s watch that received an update; there was also something for those looking for an aviation-themed timepiece from the Swiss watchmaker. For 2020, Rolex has announced a new collection of new Sky-Dweller watches that are fitted with the brand’s Oysteflex bracelet; however, it is only limited to the 18k yellow gold and the Everose gold versions of the watch. Except for the new bracelet for the model, everything else is just the same as before. The watch was previously available only a leather strap and Oyster bracelet. While this might not sound like exciting news, the Oysteflex bracelet does give the Sky-Dweller a sporty and appealing update.

Rolex did something similar with the Daytona in 2017 by releasing it on the Oysterflex bracelet. For those who aren’t aware of the bracelet that might deceivingly look like a normal rubber strap, it is made up of flexible metal blades constructed out of titanium and nickel alloy and molded with extremely durable high-performance black elastomer. As far as the innards of the watch are concerned, it continues to be powered by the same Rolex in-house caliber 9001 movement which debuted with the Sky-Dweller at Baselworld 2012 and has a power reserve of 72 hours. The different Sky-Dweller variants receiving this new update are: three dials colors in yellow gold priced at $40,000 and three dial colors in Everose gold priced at $41,500.
