The Rolex Day-Date 40 may be considered a legend by many. Being the favorite of many ‘heads of state, leaders and visionaries’ from across the world, it has grown to be a symbol of integrity and unparalleled style. As it turns 60, the watch receives a significant upgrade, after last year’s addition. Showcased at Baselworld 2016, the watch received a Rolex-green dial, marking the diamond jubilee of the model. It’s a great blend of the classic design with the day/date window against the backdrop of a modern dial. It still carries the fluted bezel that makes the design distinct from most other timepieces. Roman numerals stud the face with the exclusive olive green color giving it the identity it deserves. Now, walking into the room with this stately timepiece around the wrist will herald the arrival of someone of note.
The bracelet of the watch is available in options of Everose or white gold. The hour markers of the watch as well as the hands are made from 18 karat pink gold. It carries a 40mm case and a 3255 movement, which meets the Rolex Superlative Chronometer certification standards. It offers a 70-hour power reserve. It will cost 35.800 CHF, which is a little under $37,000.
