Code41 to announce Edition 3 of the people-powered Day 41 watch

While luxury brands embrace and flout their transparency policies, not many of them go as far as CODE41 does, to demonstrate their sincere fellowship with every customer. The Swiss brand has carved a niche for itself in the way it involves buyers in every stage of the horological process. The company is founded by Claudio D’Amore and offers total transparency of production costs, sales margins, material gathering, assembly, craftsmanship, materials used, and more. This has endeared the brand to a growing population.

Code41 is soon to make their Day 41 Edition 3 (ED3) watch available. The company describes this latest timepiece as a ‘unisex mechanical magic’ that will involve the usual process of human-powered watchmaking. The watch has been inspired by CODE41’s female community and is a ‘strong, sophisticated piece, free of any butterflies and unicorns; it works just as well on a woman’s wrist as it does on a man’s wrist’.

Mechanical watches have traditionally been embraced by men, but thanks to the women who participated in the creation of the ED3, the watch finds its need on feminine wrists too.

The Day41 ED3 can be a visual delight from every angle that is viewed, thanks to the transparent case-back that is made from sapphire crystal. One may notice that the case is underwhelming, intentionally, making the chambered construction of the case look distinctive and intensely engaging to the senses. In addition to being a great-looking watch, the ED3 is also highly functional, durable, comfortable, and can be easily adopted by the masses.

The case of the watch is made of high-quality 316L Stainless Steel, with scratch-resistant sapphire on the front and back. The glass surfaces are anti-reflective. The dial displays the hour, minute, and seconds, which are indicated by the Luminova-coated hands and numbers. Buyers can choose between case sizes of 37mm or 40mm. A complementing interchangeable 21mm strap is easy to assemble without the use of any tools. You can choose from various strap options, including the R41 rubber strap by CODE41, all available in a wide range of colors.

The ED3 uses the STP6-15 movement that ticks at 28,800 turns per hour. This movement is a favored choice because of its value for money as well as the way it projects a flawless skeletal design. It has a 44-hour power reserve and can be submerged in water up to depths of 100 meters. It can be rewound using bi-directional winding. The Swiss movement has been tested in five positions – unlike others that are normally tested in up to three positions – thus ensuring maximum precision.

In its pursuit to create a watch that transcends gender preferences, Code41 offers the 37mm variant in five colors, including one that is set with diamonds, and the 40mm in three variants. As it goes with all CODE41 watches, those who pre-book the watch will receive the assurance of TTO (Total Transparency on Origin). Discerning buyers will take comfort in the fact that they are always in the know of the origin and costs of the components of their watches. Since 2016, the CODE41 team has grown to a 25-member supergroup who pride themselves on their work and extend a growing community of members that has already surpassed 530,000.

The ED3 comes on the heels of the successful run of the ED2. The company has sold a total of 3,019 pieces, which include the Creator Edition and Edition 2. Pre-orders for the new rendition will open up for three weeks, from October 13th to November 4th, 2021. Prices will start from 1,150 CHF, which is a little over $1,242. It will come with a 2-year warranty for any manufacturing defect.
