Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new Master Ultra Thin collection is purists’ idea of classic elegance

Every watchmaker has its own specialty that is unique to their legacy and Jaeger-LeCoultre is no different, the Swiss watchmaker is known across the world for making watches with classic design that are ultra thin. Luxury watches with thick casing are in vogue but ultra slim watches with elegant design can never go out of fashion, and proof for that are Jaeger-LeCoultre’s newest creations, two new ultra thin models named the Master Ultra Thin 38.5mm and Master Ultra Thin Date. The architecture and the design of the watches are similar to the watchmaker’s popular model named Master Grande Ultra Thin 40 which was unveiled way back in 2008.

As the name implies, the Master Ultra Thin 38.5mm model has a sleek and a smaller case with a diameter of 38.5mm and a thickness on 7.58mm. It is powered by the proprietary automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 896 whose balance beats at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Available in gold and steel versions, the dial has the Jaeger-LeCoultre signature at 12 o’clock which is topped by the JLC emblem, and the small seconds appear in a subdial at 6 o’clock. The steel model features a sunburst silver-toned dial with polished rhodium hour-markers, while the gold version’s dial adopts a warm eggshell white shade that perfectly matches with the pink gold case.
