Inspired by the celestial phenomena of a shooting star, the Swiss luxury watchmaker brings the stunning night sky, sparkling diamonds as stars, and a surprise visit of the shooting star on the dial. The watchmakers of Jaeger-LeCoultre have fabricated an entirely new mechanism conceived and developed within the Manufacture. The 36mm dial of the new Rendez-Vous Dazzling Star is made out of blue Aventurine. The pink gold case comes with a sapphire crystal case back. The shooting star takes center stage on the dial in the form of three discs that are layered over each other. The first layer conceals the shooting star when it is inactive. The second layer holds the cut-out of the shooting star; that spins when activated, sending the meteor on a surprise visit to the wearer (roughly 4 to 6 times every hour). For those who don’t want to depend on the element of surprise, the star may also be summoned on demand by turning the winding crown several times. The deepest layer of the dial is a fixed disc sporting a glowing gradient finish that underscores the sense of movement.
In typical JLC fashion, a ring of applied numerals sits in the signature Floral font and applied hemispherical hour markers. Golden Floral hands indicate the time on the dial completed by two concentric rings. The dazzling circles are prong-set with the highest quality diamonds totaling 36 stones. A shiny blue alligator strap perfectly complements the enchanting blue hued-dial with a folding buckle.
