The Slim d’Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique timepiece is a true work of art

Limited to as few as 6 pieces, the the Slim d’Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique watch spotlights the delicate art of miniature painting with its intricately painted mother-of-pear dial. The watches have been created entirely within Hermès’ in house workshops by skilled artisans.

The process begins when the artisan recreates the motifs on a Laetitia Bianchi designed Hermès silk scarf to a mother of pearl disc. After sketching out the pattern more clearly, he prepares his colors and uses an ultra-fine brush to pain the delicate design. About 21 layers of paint are interspersed by successive firings in the oven at 90°C to dry the painting.

The “Mille Fleurs” with its endless tiny leaves and flowers is reminiscent of the 15th and 16th century tapestries which inspired its name. The beautiful dial is contained in a white gold case with the ultra-thin Manufacture Hermès H1950 movement. An in-house made alligator strap completes the look of this artistic watch which is both rare and stunning.
