This beautiful desk clock is a modern reinterpretation of Vulcain’s iconic three-faced ceiling clock from the TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport

The three-faced Vulcain clock that has graced the ceiling of the TWA terminal at JFK Airport in New York since the 1960s is an architectural masterpiece. The Swiss watch brand is reissuing the iconic clock as a desk clock that faithfully replicates the sculptural design with a 316L stainless steel body and an iridescent warm light grey finish. “Bringing it back is a tribute to the ‘Jet Age’ aesthetic that still captivates and inspires,” says Guillaume Laidet, a French serial watch entrepreneur who revived Vulcain. “The moment I saw the clock, there was no hesitation.”

Inaugurated in 1962, the TWA Flight Center is a historic landmark designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen. The architectural marvel perfectly captures mid-century modernism with its jaw-dropping design and the spirit of the Jet Age. The building was fully restored in 2019 and converted into the luxury TWA Hotel, which preserves the legacy and heritage of the TWA terminal. The historic clock was also preserved during the meticulous restoration of the TWA Flight Center, ensuring it remains a central feature of the building.
