Zenith celebrates the launch of all-new Range Rover Evoque with a limited edition timepiece

Land Rover recently took the wraps off the next-generation Evoque. To celebrate the launch of the latest version of the luxury compact SUV, the British automaker collaborated with Zenith to create a commemorative special edition timepiece. Called the Defy Classic Skeleton Range Rover Edition, the new timepiece features the distinctive, bold style of the Defy collection along with plenty of subtle design cues inspired by the 2020 Range Rover Evoque. The new Defy watch is the third special edition to be spawned out of the partnership between Zenith and Land Rover, which follows the Zenith El Primero Range Rover launched in late 2016 and the Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar Special Edition introduced in early 2017.

Just like the previous two special editions, the newly unveiled Zenith Defy Classic Range Rover Edition doesn’t come with any form of obvious Range Rover branding on the front of the watch – it just has a simple engraving on the caseback indicating the Range Rover name. On the other hand, the next-generation Evoque-inspired design elements include the openwork dial which mirrors the design of the wheel design of the Evoque, along with the quilted-patterned upholstery of the premium SUV picked up in the ‘diamond’ motif gracing the rubber strap of the watch. The case measures 41mm in diameter x 10.75mm thick and is crafted from lightweight brushed titanium. It is powered by the Elite Calibre 670 automatic movement, which can be better seen from the sapphire caseback, including the Arctic Petrol blue oscillating weight. The movement offers a minimum power reserve of 48 hours. The Zenith Defy Classic Range Rover Edition is available in a limited run of just 200 pieces with a price tag of CHF 7,500 (about $7500 USD).
