Mercedes-Benz G-Class ‘Stronger Than Diamonds’ is a limited-edition G-Wagen that features a unique exterior finish and actual diamonds inside the cabin

Mercedes-Benz decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a very special way by introducing a limited-edition version of the G-Class luxury off-roader. Behold the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Stronger Than Diamonds Edition, a G550-based special edition that’s limited to just 300 units globally and features actual diamonds along with other special touches. The exterior of the boxy SUV is finished in a new shade called Manufaktur Rosewood Gray Magno, specifically created for the limited edition model. Things like the roof, wheels, logo, and door mirrors are in black to add contrast to the unique pink exterior paint. In addition to that, there are diamond logos on the exterior door handles along with a genuine silver badge, which also helps distinguish it from the rest of the range.

Inside the cabin, the limited edition gets black Nappa leather upholstery with Rosé-colored contrast stitching and deep-pile floor mats. Furthermore, there is stainless steel “Stronger Than Diamonds” badging on the door sills and front passenger grab handle. However, the highlight is a 0.25-carat diamond embedded in the four stainless-steel door locks. The German automaker will also provide a certificate from the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) “assuring that the diamonds originate from ethically, socially, and ecologically responsible sources.”

The Stronger Than Diamonds Edition is mechanically identical to the regular G550 and is powered by the automaker’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, which is capable of churning out 416 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission, helping the luxury SUV sprint from 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds. There’s no word on how many units out of the 300 examples will come to the United States, but the pricing for the special edition starts at $201,100 with the mandatory $1,150 destination charge. This makes it $56,950 more expensive than a base G550.
