Bulgari’s rare blue diamond ring to be auctioned for the first time

Blue diamonds are rare, but surely not uncommon. After a blue diamond raked a storm almost a year ago in the auction circles, Bonhams is all set to ruffle feathers again by putting a beautiful diamond and blue diamond crossover ring, by Bulgari. The ring, dated to 1960s, comes from a “private European collector” and will be auctioned for the first time ever. The ring sports a pear-shaped 3.93 carats diamond that comes in D color and VS2 clarity, alongside a pear-shaped “fancy vivid”, 3.72 carat natural blue diamond with SI2 clarity.
Update – Artdaily reports that ‘One of the world’s rarest stones, a blue diamond, has sold for £1,889,250 at the Bonhams Fine Jewellery Sale in New Bond Street.’

The stunning ring is estimated to fetch between £600,000 ($963,185) and £ 800,000 ($1,284,295). Bulgari has been a brand that served many well-known celebrities with its impressive and excellent quality jewelry designs, including names like Elizabeth Taylor, who bought most of her jewelry from the brand.
