The Pagani Zonda is often referred to as the exotic car that just won’t die — Pagani has been cranking out versions of it for nearly two decades since its introduction in the early 2000s. Despite this, with just over 140 Zondas ever made, it remains highly desirable and rare in the collector’s market.
Case in point: this 2014 Pagani Zonda 760 LM Roadster has racked up over 17,000 miles in its life but still wears an optimistic price tag. It’s heading to auction soon and RM Sotheby’s estimates a healthy selling price well over $12 million! Some even estimate it could go as high as $15 million.
If this Zonda does manage to meet those expectations, it could set records as the most expensive Zonda sold at auction. The title of the most expensive Zonda goes to the Zonda HP Barchetta, valued at $15 million when new with just three units ever made.
The Pagani Zonda 760, however, was part of a limited run of 16-20 cars that were built on existing chassis but had the best of previous special-edition Zondas and an AMG-built 7.3-litre V12 turned up to 760 horsepower.
It’s special enough that F1 driver Lewis Hamilton had one made for him, later selling it in 2021 for a cool $10.8 million. Hamilton is rumored to have said it was “terrible to drive”, which may be why the new owner subsequently crashed it.
Don’t let that dampen your enthusiasm for this Zonda though. It’s still highly collectible. The only hope is that the next owner doesn’t wreck it, or put it in a personal museum and instead continues racking up the miles.
