The $4.8 million Henri Matisse x Zika Ascher scarf is the most expensive

Looks like the movie ‘Confessions of A Shopaholic’ has more appeal than I first imagined. Maybe that would explain the bidding war at Christie’s London for a scarf called Oceanie. Designed by French artist Henri Matisse in collaboration with Zika Ascher, who founded the luxury scarf makers Ascher Studio, the scarf was created when Ascher landed at Paris in 1946 in the search of new talent to create magic. Limited to just 30 variants, the scarf /wall-panel design is not just rare but has survived many decades in a fairly good condition. No wonder it sold of a whopping £3 million ($4.8million)!
