We’re talking about the novel collab between the two marquees – the result of which is a bag that looks exactly like one of the iconic packets of Lay’s chips. Yes, that’s right! Made from exotic leather, the arm candy is printed with a graphic representation of the classic chip bag design.

It is further finished with subtle “Balenciaga” branding and is available in three colors – red, yellow, and blue. It boasts a faithful metallic silver lining and a simple zip closure at the top and was first spotted at the Paris Fashion Week.

While Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia described the bag as a ‘must have’, the internet thought otherwise for the most part. Commenting on it, one Twitter user said, ‘This is the most stupid thing I’ve seen all day’, while another added, ‘They better have eaten it after the show.’

Some also drew parallels with Moschino’s similar versions that were introduced years ago such as the toothpaste bag, baguette bag, bathroom cleaner parfum flask, etc. For those interested, Balenciaga’s ‘Lay’s Branded Bag’ is expected to be priced at $1800, although there’s no official word on it yet.
