Jeremy Scott has always been big on trends. And in doing so yet another time, the maverick recently showcased exclusive Picasso references at Moschino’s Milan Fashion Week show. Going by his own statement- “Muses inspire artists and artists inspire the world”, Jeremy’s showcase featured remarkable mixes of fashion, culture, and art that has left us spell-bound and intrigued for a long time to come.
The Picasso- enthused ensemble included abstract designs on everything from sharp menswear blazers (the opening look), giant sleeved tops and dresses and even model’s hair. While Bella Hadid showed up in a blue and pink Harlequin outfit inspired by Picasso’s ‘Rose Period’, other models strutted down the runway displaying quirky fashion at its best. Kaia Gerber walked in an actual abstract guitar-shaped dress, while Cara Taylor dressed as a framed charcoal drawing; and Stella Maxwell donned a dress embellished with Picasso’s famous little flowers.
The show further celebrated Picasso’s heritage with matador and bull ensembles, flamingo polka-dot dresses and flashy accessories inspired by a framed painting, a painter’s palette and even paint bucket shapes. The Moschino logo even imitated the late creative’s signature while Scott showcased several other of Picasso’s inspirations with aplomb. In all, with a rich confluence of art and fashion, the Moschino show at Milan Fashion Week was nothing but a reigning success! Jeremy Scott- take a bow!
