Oscar de la Renta may not be in our midst anymore, but the iconic designer has left behind a lasting legacy in the form of his womenswear label and his range of fragrances. His final fragrance fittingly titled Extraordinary is a tribute to the Oscar de la Renta woman – one who embodies great passion, confidence and style. In keeping with the designer’s love for modern femininity the fragrance is a spring perfect blend of florals that is presented in a pretty celestial inspired bottle.
Cherry blossom and bittersweet neroli form the flirty top notes of the fragrance which give way to peony and rose. The base notes are warm and sophisticated blend of blond wood, vanilla orchid, and amber resin. Of the fragrance, Michele de Bourbon, senior vice president of fragrance, said, “This had to be something sparkling, elegant but still have that flirtatious fruitiness and warmth that we know the customer loves to feel. We needed to have our own signature, something with beautiful, plush peonies and very qualitative neroli oil, a sparkle of citrus on top and a very warm woody character on the bottom.”
The eau de parfum will retail for $92 (90-ml) and $58 (40-ml). The fragrance will also be available as a rollerball and lip balm set priced at $22.
