After the success of Stella McCartney x Adidas collaboration on the vegan Stan Smith sneakers last year, the marquees are back again with yet another partnership! Inspired by cruelty free and sustainable practices (much like last time), this year’s association gives the Stan Smith shoes a makeover of sorts while keeping in line with a vegan construction.
Inspired from the rainbow hues found in the designer’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection, the new Stella McCartney x Adidas trainers come with two pairs of interchangeable laces –a white option for a subtle look and a rainbow version for a more playful aesthetic. The sneakers further feature Stan Smith’s portrait on the tongue of the right shoe and McCartney’s signed portrait on the left, along with white and black stripes on the heel and star lines with a rainbow gradient in place of Adidas’ adidas’ signature three stripes branding.
The novel Stella McCartney x Adidas footwear will launch on December 2 and can be purchased online on the Stella McCartney’s website as well as in store locations and select retail outlets worldwide. The revamped Stan Smith’s will cost approximately $300 USD a pair and are expected to be available in a limited-batches. All said, sustainable fashion can’t get any better than this!
