We already know and love Bang & Olufsen for their top quality speakers and headphones but judging by their latest collaboration, the company may be expanding their offerings. In collaboration with electronic products company LG, the brand has created an OLED television called the BeoVision Eclipse. This is the first TV from Bang & Olufsen and the company’s claims are pretty high. They promise “the latest 4K HDR OLED screen technology and the world’s best TV sound.”
The TV features LG’s webOS 3.5, providing access to Netflix, YouTube, Deezer, and has audio streaming technologies including Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth and Chromecast built in. HDR (High Dynamic Range) with Dolby Vision™ technology and OLED pixels come together to provide bright colors and absolute black contrast.
Visible electronics are sometimes eyesores in a well decorated room, but this design with an organic aluminum body fits in well with a modern or minimal décor. Most people may prefer to wall mount their flatscreens these days but this the BeoVision Eclipse’s floor stand may change your mind. B&O’s website states that “the motorized stand is designed with a double axis that cleverly pulls the screen out from the wall and into the room when turned. The stand can turn the screen almost 90 degrees to either side, all at the touch of a button.” If you do choose the wall mount option, you can select either a manual or a motorized version that is completely integrated into the SoundCentre, making the TV appear to be floating mid-air when positioned out from the wall. The wall mount can be hinged in either side and allows the screen to move up to 60 degrees from the wall.
The BeoVision Eclipse comes in two sizes: 55 inches priced at $10,990, and 65 inches priced at $15,990.
