Bentley recently set-up a pop-up luxury restaurant for its customers on the summit of the UAE’s tallest mountain, Jebel Jais. Appropriately named ‘The Peak of Luxury,’ it was constructed to celebrate the Middle East launch of the all-new Continental GT and the Bentley Bentayga V8 luxury SUV. Styled as an Arabic tent, was open for just seven days and served a specially designed menu of classic British dishes with a Middle Eastern twist, created by renowned chef Colin Clague. The Bentley luxury dining room sat 1,934 meters above sea level, and the route to the location consists of some of the finest winding hills roads UAE has to offer.
The five-course menu in the restaurant included British delicacies like Lock Fyne Scottish salmon, British beef sirloin steaks and Yorkshire puddings. Bentley said they wanted to “demonstrate the sheer levels of bespoke luxury Bentley delivers through truly extraordinary experiences” and “describes the location as a ‘luxury dining room” featuring contemporary furniture and spectacular panoramic views across the mountain top. “Working with Bentley – which is a British icon – on a such an innovative project has been a very unique experience,” said Colin Clague, who took a week away from his permanent role as executive chef at Ruya in Mayfair. “Over the course of my career I’ve worked in many kitchens in many countries across the globe, but I’ve never served dinner in a completely bespoke restaurant on the highest mountain in the UAE. It’s certainly a moment I will never forget.”
