The celebrity has become the face of Breitling for Bentley and stars in its latest advertising campaign with the British aplomb.
David Beckham exudes his trademark charisma into the Breitling for Bentley chronographs that have become synonymous, since 2003, with the pinnacle of British excellence. The latest advert embodies the icon’s inimitable class with a heady dose of dark elegance. “I love the combination of a high-performance ‘engine’ reflecting Swiss excellence and a powerful design. I have been a long-time admirer of Breitling and its heritage,” says Beckham. Famous photographer Anthony Mandler successfully captures this power in its most natural habitat, the wrist of an equally powerful individual, “I wanted to take the strongest elements of Breitling communication and associate them with the strongest aspects of David’s image and personality.” The striking portraits by the American photographer reveal a stature shrouded in long-standing tradition with an air of refined erudition. “My aim was to make Beckham a hero: a strong, masculine figure,” and as the world will witness, he did.
